ONE OF THE GREATEST COLOMBIAN TENNIS PROMISES
Tomás Pérez Garzón is a young Colombian athlete who has excelled in tennis from a very early age. At the age of three, Tomás began practicing a variety of sports, including karate, horseback riding, basketball, football, table tennis, baseball, and tennis. Then, at around 4 or 5 years old, his family decided to focus on tennis, the sport in which he showed his great talent. Since then he has competed in national and international tournaments.
¨My motivation for the sport started since my parents were always insisting in exploding my talent for Tennis¨. Pérez states.
He has achieved some notable acknowledgements such as; Florida Open (USTA) at the age of 12 and also a Silver medal in the INTERLIGAS tournament, here in Colombia.
¨I´ve been playing Tennis for twelve years now since I started when I was around four years old and I usually go training for four or five hours daily¨.
Tomás has been a member of the Bogotá League, and he has also competed in tournaments on weekends. He is currently a member of the Military Forces League and trains at the High Performance Center (Centro de Alto Rendimiento), Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers Club (Club de suboficiales de la fuerza aérea), and the Military Club too.
“Historically, I have admired Roger Federer for his intelligence and elegance in every competition, and nowadays my role model is Carlos Alcaraz, since he is very young and has already won an Olympic silver medal among other important titles.” Tomás concludes.
Tomás has a very bright future due to his talent and the unconditional support from his parents. All the accomplishments he has achieved at his young age let us dream about having a future Tennis colombian legend.
